Economic top of the line technology based on experienced
Ulrich Neumann revolutionised the further development in pipe calibration and cooling in 1975 with his invention of the modern vacuum calibration technology and its development into the series production stage. The spray cooled vacuum tanks and the calibration sleeves were introduced into pipe extrusion under the name „Uniplex“ . This calibration technology took over the markets worldwide in a very short period of time.
The adjustable calibration sleeve EP 1048434 is a further development also based on Ulrich Neumann's ideas.
Since 1976 Ulrich Neumann has also been involved in ultra-sonic measuring technology and has developed measuring systems permitting measurement directly downstream of the calibration sleeve in the hot zone . Further new ideas followed, such as:
- measuring inside the calibration sleeve upstream of the vacuum tank the reversing proximity (non-contact) measurement
- the rotary 100% measurement
- measuring using segment sensors
Furthermore, he developed the „Pro Quality“ measuring concept.
In 1982 Ulrich Neumann initiated the introduction of gravimetrics in pipe extrusion. Amongst others, he developed the first funnel weighers for powder and introduced the platform weighing cells for funnel weighers.
In 1994, Ulrich Neumann applied for a patent for a tool cleaning system with thermal oil. This environmentally friendly cleaning system cleans tool parts soiled with plastic residue.
